We take pride in staying on top of the industry innovations and regulations. We have been updating our labels to comply with the new Hazardous Products Regulations and we are taking part in an initiative to update the Fertilizers Regulations. We also registered Plant-Prod Sodium Molybdate Anhydrous.

New labels

Have you noticed that our labels looking are looking a little different? That’s because we have adopted the new Hazardous Products Regulations. In an attempt to remain compliant with the most recent regulations, we’ve been busy updating our product classifications, labels and safety data sheets with the new “WHMIS 2015” requirements that have recently been delayed to a June 2018 deadline – so we are early! If you’re looking for more information on the transition or the new pictograms and classifications, check out these fact sheets from Canadian Centre for Occupational Health & Safety (CCOHS) or contact us.

Fertilizers Act Modernization

As a part of a multi-year modernization initiative, we have been collaborating with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and other industry members to update the Fertilizers Regulations.

One crucial part of this modernization is the requirement for all raw materials to either be registered under the Fertilizers Act or exempt from registration based on prescribed safety standards. In preparation for the release of the new regulation requirements in The Canada Gazette later this year, Plant-Prod has laid the groundwork to ensure our compliance and the safety of our products. This includes only using registered, high quality micronutrients in our products. For more information, please visit the CFIA website.

Sodium Molybdate

We’ve recently received registration for our Plant-Prod Sodium Molybdate Anhydrous. Registration of a product under the Canadian Fertilizers Act helps ensure safety for humans, animals, plants and the environment. The registration process incorporates a comprehensive pre-market assessment that consists of a detailed, science-based evaluation of product safety information and labeling. These evaluations, including heavy metal analyses, are reviewed every three years upon registration renewal.

Just another reason to rely on the high quality performance of Plant-Prod fertilizers.
